In an effort to increase the visibility of our virtual reference services within the UF Libraries, we have added a new widget to the library website. The Ask Us! slide widget has gone live and appears on the right side of almost all library webpages. The orange tab reads "Ask Us!" and allows patrons to begin a chat with a librarian or send an email if chat is unavailable.

Here's how it works:

1. Patrons can click on the Ask Us! button on most library webpages.

2. Once the patron clicks on the orange Ask Us! button, the widget will slide open and allow them to start a chat (if chat is offline, a link allowing patrson to submit a reference question via the email reference form will appear instead.)

3. Upon clicking the "Start Chat" button, patrons will be connected to an Ask A staff member who will be able to assist them.

If you have any questions about the widget, feel free to email the UF Ask A coordinator.
